This is a shot of an inner courtyard, if I can call it that, in a hotel I stayed at while visiting Budapest in 2008. The hotel itself was in fact hidden on one floor within this evidently Soviet era complex. The staff at this little, out-of-the-way hotel were very welcoming but it must still register as the strangest hotel I have ever visited. I told colleagues that it had a distinctly "Blade Runner" feel to it. The Soviet era architecture, with its harsh metallic accents, was a positive to my mind, being a child of the cold war, and the nearby cafe offered good food and really good beer - so I had no real complaints at all.
